Kelly Komatz

We have returned from the western area of Mongolia back to UB. I myself am appreciative that our trip turned out to be flipped – where we visited the Mongolians in their own gers and traveled the roads they travel as part of their everyday life. I feel that going into the hospital tomorrow having experienced their way of life will only bring a broader perspective of what it means to have a child in the hospital. We talk about the culture of medicine and the unfamiliarity of everything for our families and patients back in the States – the Mongolians experience is a thousand fold different.

I am excited to bring my knowledge to such a lovely people and share their experiences over the next week.

Thank you for this opportunity of living the life of a nomad over the last week.
